Happy Belated Thesaurus Day!

Holly at Holly Knitlightly is celebrating all kinds of fun holidays over at her blog this year. Yesterday was Thesaurus Day, so even though I’m technically a day late, I want to help her celebrate by asking just one little itty bitty question.

Is there another word for Thesaurus?

(Let’s see what Thesaurus.com has to say.. )

Main Entry: thesaurus
Part of Speech: noun
Definition: dictionary of synonyms and antonyms
Synonyms: glossary, language reference book, lexicon, onomasticon, reference book, sourcebook, storehouse of words, terminology, treasury of words, vocabulary, word list

What do you think? Do they work for you? I’m not so sure. Onomasticon is kinda funky though.

(Onomasticon and thesaurus totally sound like dinosaurs, don’t they? mmm word dinosaurs.)

  • They do sound like dinos!

  • I love things like this where people blog about a specific topic on a regular basis. I want to find more websites that do that. Thanks for sharing Holly’s site and Instax.

  • Aw man are they gonna find out the thesaurus isn’t a real dinosaur too?? 🙁

  • DINOSAURS!!!!

  • I totally thought I commented on this already! Haha but I love that two other Hollys already did. I never see/meet people named Holly! 🙂 I like “storehouse of words”, haha. Strange! 🙂
