Fill in the Blank Friday
1. My favorite quote is
I have no particular talent. I am merely inquisitive. – Albert Einstein
Oh honey, I would, but.. I don’t want to. – Karen Walker (Will & Grace)
I feel sorry for people who don’t drink. When they wake up in the morning, that’s as good as they’re going to feel all day. – Frank Sinatra
When in trouble or in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout. – Cory Doctorow
2. A bad habit I have is
not finishing anything I start, I guess. at least other people think that’s a bad habit. i don’t really mind so much. for me, it’s more about the starting & the process.
3. The first time I felt like a “grown up” was
umm, I don’t think I ever have. Does that even really happen?
4. Weekends are
for playing, mass & steelers games.
5. When I was a child I wished my name was
Amanda, which is my middle name. But when my sister was born, that changed because her name is Amanda. But I do like Lauren.
6. I wish
for yellow nailpolish so i can paint my finger nails black & yellow.
7. A secret I have is
well, then it wouldn’t be a secret, would it? tell you what, i’ll give you a partial secret.. i wish i was more normal. normal is up for debate, but that’s what i’m sticking to.

Postcard Thursday
From 1972, ten years before I was born. “Mama” would be my great grandma, who I have never met.
Greetings from Savannah, Georgia!
The Eugene Talmadge Bridge
The Eugene Talmadge Memorial Bridge is dedicated as a memorial to the late former Governor of Georgia, was built at a cost of $14,600,000. The structure is 6,034 ft. long with a vertical clearance of 135 feet over the Savannah River.
Forsyth Park is one of the numerous beautiful parks that dot “The Hostess City of the South”. Every Spring, when the thousands of azalea bushes in this park along with other flowering shrubs and trees are in bloom it presents a gorgeous riot of color.
The beautiful fountain was modeled after that in the Place De La Concorde, Paris, France.
Hello Margie
Having a good time but will be coming home soon. hope you are o.k.
Love, Mama

Happy Belated Thesaurus Day!

Holly at Holly Knitlightly is celebrating all kinds of fun holidays over at her blog this year. Yesterday was Thesaurus Day, so even though I’m technically a day late, I want to help her celebrate by asking just one little itty bitty question.
Is there another word for Thesaurus?
(Let’s see what Thesaurus.com has to say.. )
Main Entry: thesaurus
Part of Speech: noun
Definition: dictionary of synonyms and antonyms
Synonyms: glossary, language reference book, lexicon, onomasticon, reference book, sourcebook, storehouse of words, terminology, treasury of words, vocabulary, word list
What do you think? Do they work for you? I’m not so sure. Onomasticon is kinda funky though.
(Onomasticon and thesaurus totally sound like dinosaurs, don’t they? mmm word dinosaurs.)

52 (weeks of instax) Friday
I don’t know if I’m going to post them every week, but here are my week one and week two pics for 52 Weeks of Instax.
I just got my Instax Wide, so I’m still trying to figure out the settings, that’s why the first one is pretty dark.
Only some of the books I have out from the library, because I now have nine more out, for a total of 21.
My slippers that I wear as shoes. 😛
Check out the Flickr group.

Postcard Thursday
This postcard is from 1970. Margie = grandma. Doris = her sister. Danny = my uncle/Margie’s son. Preston = 3rd cousin/Doris’ grandson.
Note the lack of address.. (though they did get chastised for lack of zip code, haha!) Pinebluff today only has around 2000 people.
Jacksonville, Florida
Jacksonville International Airport
Dear Margie and Danny,
We are having a good time riding and seeing the town. This is a large place. Preston got here this morning. We will be back Sunday night soon. See you soon.
Love Doris
