trumpets & cocaine
Tuesday, November 27th, 2007I am a happy girl because I dug out my trumpet today and played. It’s been forever since I’ve played regularly. There is this possible big band sorta group I’ll be playing in, so I wanted to get my chops working. I’m going to try to practice a little every day here. I’m not that bad out of shape, but honestly, I could use some music reading practice.
I also played some Christmas songs on my guitar, so that was fun. And “You Were Meant for Me” by Jewel– that is really fun to play and sing. I might memorise that and make it a standard song to play when I dig out my music.
I wish I had some cocaine to rub all over my lips and fingers. (I wouldn’t do that for real.)
Here’s a secret. I secretly want to be a musician. Now it’s not a secret anymore, but that’s okay. It’s a bit too late now to really be a musician in the purest-sense-of-the-word, like of the chamber orchestra variety or whatnot, but maybe I can be one of those 1930s in the street, barely making rent sorta musician. I need a good hat though.
