Quick Tips: Christmas Postcards

[source]

Every year I get Christmas cards and every year, after displaying them, I stick them in the Christmas decorations and then trash them the following year. On one hand, I feel guilty for trashing them because someone sent them to me, on the other hand, they’re kinda trash, lol. I keep letters and interesting mail.. but cards, not so much.

So, if you’re like me (and umm, also like me, didn’t send out Christmas cards yet..)

Take last year’s Christmas cards and tear or cut off the upper/front portion of it and you have a postcard! Then just draw a line or not, fill it out, write a little note & stamp it. (28 cents for a postcard stamp, by the way.)

Of course, this works for other cards including: other holidays, cards you get for free from charities that might have the charity name on them & maybe you don’t want to use them because of that, any card that you don’t like the text inside, or any card you’d rather be a postcard.

Postcards are totally cuter than regular cards anyway.

Snail Mail Monday

This is from my friend Nicole, who randomly thought of me and sent this to me. Isn’t she so cool?

And my two new penpals. 🙂

I love the zipcode on this one. 🙂

And these!

Colorado: Intro

So, I’m back from Colorado! We got back on Sunday, just in the time to see the Steelers beat the Ravens, yay! I’m thinking I’m going to have to share the trip in bits and pieces considering I just put 300-some pictures on my computer and I like to at least “I feel lucky” edit them before posting. I just did the first flip-through and deleted a bunch, but there’s a lot more to do! I’m pretty sure there are going to be a million pictures of rocks though. (Ah, yes, Niagara Falls all over again – after I went there in high school, my mom was flipping through my pictures and complained about hundreds of pictures of water, hehe!)

We went to visit Sam’s grandma because she had been sick and we really felt like we should be there. All of her kids were there, Sam’s three aunts and two uncles and his dad. I had met everyone before at our wedding, but this is the first time I’ve really gotten to know the extended family and I had a really good time. We also got in some site seeing. I have never been to Colorado before, in fact, this is the furthest west I’ve ever been. (Yay! I got to add another state to my “states I’ve been to” list, which is now up to 23 states!)

Does anyone have any suggestions to help get noise out of photos, from low-light situations on a crap point and shoot? (I have Gimp.)

Christmas ornament & stuff

Mandy (my sister) made this ornament from aluminum foil, how cool is it???? We tried to start decorating the tree last night, but we ran out of lights, so hopefully we’ll finish tonight!

Btw, you should go to the previous post and guess our ages, if you don’t already know how old we are. I’m just curious to see what you come up with.

I don’t know how posts are going to be for the rest of this week. Mandy is here until tomorrow and we are leaving for Colorado on Wednesday to visit Sam’s grandma. We’re staying until Sunday. We’re hoping to get in a little bit of site seeing, since I’ve never been to Colorado! But, I will try to blog from my phone occasionally if we do!

5 Question Friday

I haven’t done this in awhile and I don’t have time for a good post since my sister is here until Tuesday. 🙂

1. What is your favorite part of a Thanksgiving meal? Turkey, stuffing, gravy & cranberry sauce (canned only, and the kind that’s shaped like the can and isn’t berries), and I could eat it every single day!

2. Are you a host or a guest for Thanksgiving this year? I was a guest this year at my dad’s house.

3. When you think of one Thanksgiving tradition, what comes to mind? Watching Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, but I haven’t seen Santa yet! We had to leave before the end, so we recorded it just so I can see Santa, haha!

4. You have two pieces of pie in front of you and you HAVE to eat one…do you choose pumpkin or pecan? Pumpkin because I don’t like pecan pie!

5. Are you a Black Friday Shopper? I want to be, but Sam won’t let me and it’s kinda boring by myself. I think it’s exciting, but he thinks it’s a death wish.
