shallow depth of field using gimp

this is my first attempt at creating shallow depth of field using Gimp. i used this tutorial. what do you think?

    @Hollie – shallow depth of field is when the background is blurrier and the object that you want to focus on is clearer– it’s kind of the hallmark of better cameras. I only have a point and shoot, without enough settings, so I can’t do this with my camera.

    From what I can tell on my cell’s browser, I really like it. I’ll have to look more into the tutorial later. I do this with Photoshop sometimes. I like how it brings out your subject. When you get a chance photo something with the sky or water as a dominant part of the background. The effects are amazing and so artsy.

  • Did you blurry it up more?? It looks blurrier than what you had shown me yesterday?
    Maybe my eyes are blurrier today from all the work I’ve done. :p
