no golfing

i just got back from the park and i’m going to try really hard to express the complete randomness and hysterical-ness of what i saw.

1. this sign was posted at the baseball field. like, i should be able to stop here and the double take of seeing the sign in this spot should be enough humor value. but, alas, there is more and i shall go on.

2. there was indeed a guy golfing there.

3. this park is far and away mostly filled with black people, but you do sometimes see white people (like me!) there.

4. golfer person was perfect white stereotype – an older white gentleman, wearing full country club style golf clothes, smoking a cigar

for a moment, i thought i was walking into an improv everywhere video.

the world feels a little displaced today, haha

christmas in july ❤

this is what I got from the swap! aren’t these earrings so cute? (here’s what i made.)

i ended up buying some plain, all-the-time-wearable earrings from Claire’s so that I can get the holes in my ears workable again so i can wear these!! the front holes were practically closed up – that was fun to fix. 😛

you can go check out the linky party to see more stuff people made.

journal from swap

for the christmas in july craft swap at craftaholics anonymous, I made a journal for my swap partner. it was the first time i’ve made something like this, and it was pretty fun – i’ll definitely do it again. it was also my very first swap.

i need a better way to attach the pages though, so if anyone has any suggestions that are still fairly easy, let me know. i used embroidery thread, but it was very loose.

embroidery is definitely the habit i need to have, because it’s cheaper haha.

i’ve never embroidered before and i don’t know if this counts or not, but i didn’t actually set out to embroider. i wanted to add a pocket to the cover and thought that embroidery thread would be prettier than just sewing it, and i happened to have a hoop for another project, so i decided to try it out on there so it would be sturdier, and well, haha, i’m apparently embroidering.. i can see why people use the hoop – so much easier!

5 Question Friday

1. What is one food you could eat everyday? Sandwiches, crabs or I dunno, candy? lol

2. Are you working in the career you thought you would be when you were 18? Nope. I wanted to be a teacher since I was in kindergarten, but I have zero desire to do that now.

3. What is something that you wish you would have done when you were younger and you didn’t? I think I’m supposed to say finish college, but I don’t wish that. lol I think I would have liked to have more typical teen experiences..

4. What color are your kitchen walls? It’s a really ugly weird off-white-brown-gray color. lol. I want to paint it white, but I’m lazy, I guess.

5. Do you remember what your very first favorite song was? I didn’t remember until I started writing out an answer to this question, but then I did!! So, my first favorite song was One More Night by Phil Collins!! How could I forget that even for a second?!

Pile of Craft

[source]

Saturday was Pile of Craft in Baltimore. It was the very first time I’ve ever been to a craft show.

i didn’t have a lot to spend, but i did get to get a few goodies.

this print is from el jefe design & that’s the cool sticker/business card i got with it.

this is from cotton monster. i wish i could have gotten an actual monster though! soon! yessss i will have one!!!

these cute postcards are from motobus.

and the best part was that they rented a magnolia photo booth!

i wish i could have gotten more, and i didn’t win the awesome gift basket, but i did leave with some crazy stickers from the hosts, Charm City Craft Mafia and a stack of business cards.. 😉
