Tell Your Story: Introduction

i finally got started on the Tell Your Story art journal class and finished my intro page! i should get a lot done this weekend though.

Introduction: my name is Lauren and I am 27 years old. I’ve always loved paper but I just discovered there is a place for that in the world – who knew? I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up, but then again, I don’t think I will ever grow up! It’s sure fun playing around on the way! Also, I love avocados & saying “also” a lot! ❤

ah, new love

i am looking through an old scrapbox that is mainly filled with my mom’s old things [looking for some potential vintage ephemera, but i think i threw it all out years ago when i was trying to narrow down the mess that was my mom being a packrat- i and know there was some good stuff in there too! grr!] and i came across this handmade “award” my mom made my dad for their first wedding anniversary.

it’s nice to know that once upon a time my mom and dad were as gross as sam and me. 😉

1. What was the first car you owned? 1986 dodge lancer (with turbo!!) in black. it stalled in the middle of driving & it couldn’t go up hills, haha.

2. What song are you embarrassed to know the lyrics to? pch, i’m not embarassed by any songs! some that i know.. waterfalls by TLC (including the rap!), men in black theme song, amish paradise by weird al and of course baby got back.

3. Have you ever had stitches? when i was two i got bitten in the head by our beagle, spinner. i remember the hospital, but i don’t remember any pain or anything.

4. What was your first job? dining hall at messiah college

5. Who is your favorite Sesame Street character? oscar the grouch!!

i’m passing a journal around a group of friends, so i bought one and decorated it. the front was plain tan cardboard-ish. i forgot to take a picture of the before, but it was the same as this.

this is my fave part. the yellow thing is one of those key tag things for your key ring.. there were a bunch of them in the stuff i got from freecycle.
