- You can use pretty old magazine or catalog pages to decorate your snail mail. Cut out and glue or tape (washi tape!) parts of the pages to decorate the paper or the envelope. On lighter pages, use the entire sheet as stationery or a notecard and write your letter right on them. Or use another page to create the envelope.
- If you take a regular envelope of your choice and pull it apart, you have an excellent template for your created envelopes.
There is a quick, cute tutorial on making envelopes at The Pink Couch. She uses vintage papers, but you can use magazine pages or anything you want.
- My two favorite free catalogs are Free People and Toast.
Toast is in the UK but they will send to the US. You need to order each season though, you aren’t subscribed like you would be for a typical catalog. They have three catalogs – men, women and home. Their pages are amazing – absolutely beautiful, full spreads and they have a fantastic texture (and a lot of beautiful things to drool over, of course).
