Guest Post: Fritzi Marie

Happy Monday! (haha) I have another guest post here from Fritzi Marie! And, a little giveaway too! How exciting! (I’ll choose the winner on.. hmm, how about Thursday??)

Dearest Oh, Lauren Friends,

I’m sitting in for our dear Lauren and wishing her a speedy recovery.

My name is Fritzi Marie and I love to make care packages and send wishes out into the world. When I am feeling down my favorite thing to do to perk myself up is to make a care package for a friend. My goal is to put all of my energy into that friend by making “happy mail” that will brighten her day. The most important thing to remember when making a care package is to never expect anything in return. A true care package (one that helps you heal) is a gift of love.

Here are my tips for making a lovely care package.

-Pick yourself up and decide who you want to make feel special.
-Do a little bit of research about your dear friend.  Inventory her favorite things and her personality.
-Pick a theme and run with it.
-Get out of your house and go somewhere local to pick up a gift.
-Next go to your local shop (I go to Target) pick up a treat (for you to sip on) and shop with your friend in mind. (Remember: this act of love is not about spending a lot of money, it is about sending happy thoughts out into the world).
-Now take yourself home and put on your comfies, put a pretty movie on, and spread out all of your goodies and take a good look at them.
-This is the fun part. Start personalizing your pretties. Grab some treasure (I have a vintage shop and I go to estate sales every Friday to find items for my shop, my home, and my friends).
-Then get out all of your packing supplies and stationery and get to making everything look like a million bucks. It’s all about presentation.
-Write a sweet note, it will make your heart happy.
-Lastly, go to the Post Office and send that package full of happy feelings out into the world. I promise you will feel like a superstar.

I’m up to my ears in Care Package Goodness over here. I just put this care package together for my friend Jane. (the photo above is what I found for her) It was a giveaway I was doing for my shops one year anniversary.  Jane loves poetry, the outdoors, her family and fall colors.  Every item I chose to send her reminded me of her.
That is what makes putting a care package together a gift of love and yourself.  Take your time and make it extra special.

So here’s the deal, tell me about a care package you received and how it made you feel and the winner will get some Fritzi Marie surprise mail. Leave your comment here on Lauren’s blog but come visit me too, I love making new friends.  Hooray for friends and Happy Mail.

love love love,
Fritzi Marie

i love making care packages as well, especially for no real reason but to put a smile on a friend’s face 🙂 i love your list of tips!

  • Hi Fritzi Marie – nice to meet you! I love making and getting care packages so much as well!
I will hop on over to your blog right away to “check it out”!
    Have a great week ladies!

  • Those are some great tips. I just love getting any sort of mail from my friends. It doesn’t have to be a package, even a pretty hand written note always brightens my day so much!

  • Fun! I love putting together gifts for friends and family. 😀

Once, a friend brought over a can of soup, 2 trashy gossip magazines and a hug, because I was sick. Other than that, I”ve never really had a care pacakage arrive!

    Have a good day!

  • When I was 6 we moved to another state and I missed my family. I told my grandma on the phone that I missed her and that I was upset because they didn’t sell Fig Newtons in our new city (Actually, they did, but my mom just didn’t buy them for us for whatever reason). A few days later my brother and I got a huge box in the mail filled with Fig Newtons (among other things). It was amazing to me that a simple thing like a familiar cookie could be such a comfort to me in an unsure time.

  • I have a lot of fun putting random care packages together as well. One of my favorite was part of a swap but the sender (who I did not know at all) but she went above and beyond the swap descriptions..basically thanking me for my support of our military. It was very sweet and touching.
