Why is it that the general response to, and consensus and thought process of, troubling laws and bad government is to create more laws and give more power to this said government?

It is my opinion that we are capable of making our own decisions and caring for our own lives. It is beyond laziness. It is beyond needing parental figures. It is beyond needing bureaucracy to care for needs. It is somewhat not knowing any better or never tasting true freedom. But, in the end, it is by far and wildly that one cannot grasp the concept of having permission to control one’s own life.
