Monday was the 6th birthday of my baptism.
I was baptized at the Yellow Breeches Creek at Messiah College on August 25, 2002 by the pastor of my E-Free church. I was 19 years old.
There was a huge thing at the creek where there were a ton of us getting baptized at the same time. Everyone sat around on blankets/lawn chairs and we had the praise band there and everyone getting baptized took turns giving their testimonies. Then we went five at a time into the creek, each with a certain staff/pastor. Then we were dunked and all. 
My testimony was basically about how I had been raised into the church, and I remembered “accepting Jesus into my heart” at about five years old. I had been in church on and off, so “missed” the usual baptism time (about 12 in the Baptist church, since I was raised Baptist), and that I decided to study baptism and now knew enough to know that baptism was a necessary step and it was time. Most of the testimonies were of the church camp type though.

Yellow Breeches Creek, by the covered bridge. This is where I went to college too, but we just held our baptism there, it wasn’t through the college. (My high school graduation was held at Messiah too– we often had events there.) The steps were put in by the church to make it easier to get in and out.
Here’s dopey me giving my testimony. Why in the world is my head up like that? Seriously. The people behind me sitting were mostly the staff– there are a ton of people all out in the direction I’m looking, behind the camera. It was really nerve-racking. Oh and the people beside me are the ones getting ready for their turn.

Happy baptism! Speaking of Messiah- Did you hear about the woman who got caught stealing a ton of money from Messiah just recently? It’s horrible!

EEEP! I am glad you don’t know her because she seems to be a hot mess and is in a heap of trouble!Of course, I think what she stole seems to be the tuition bill for one year at the expensive school!!

Wow how wonderful you have so many pictures to remember the day by. I barely remember my baptism and have actually contemplated getting baptised again so that I knew I was doing it for it the right reasons and not something I was pressured into at the time. (I’m not sure I was, because I can’t remember, but I’d like to know for sure.) Anywho…..Happy Baptism !
