Every few months, I sign into my Neopets account, take 1000 NP out of the bank, put my starving pets in a cockroach motel for 28 days, and then put the rest of the money on the poogle races.

I’ve been doing research on the history of Biblical canon and how the books of our Bible have come to be our books. In particular, I’ve been interested in why Protestants removed specific books, and what criteria was originally used to choose the books. I know a bit here and there, generically, from my Bible [...]

My husband and I went to the park today and had a small picnic with chicken, not to be confused, of course, with having a picnic with a chicken. Let’s be clear: there was some major eating of the chicken going on here.
We went on the swings and then I pretended I could do something [...]

Sometime last week, I had a tornado dream, which I’ve had regularly for the last 17 years. They’ve changed over the years, but usually the dreams go something like: panic, run for cover to ironic building of glass, feel tornado hitting building, pray, survive. Generally, they feature my dad, my brother and sister or their [...]

In in some odd turn of events, I was awake before noon this morning, and I decided I wanted to watch cartoons. I tried to find something good, but they truly suck. The few on are super hero shows and that bores me being a female and all. There was an old [...]

I just finished reading Girl, Interrupted and I went to Amazon and I noticed there were a lot of mixed reviews, and even really terrible ones. I’m really surprised because I loved it. Almost every word resonated with me and I couldn’t put it down.
I’m not sure if it’s because I [...]

I bought some books! (Big surprise!)
Obsessive Genius: The Inner World of Marie Curie — Barbara Goldsmith
Goddesses, Whores, Wives, and Slaves: Women in Classic Antiquity — Sarah B. Pomeroy
Born Under the Sign of Jazz — Randi Hultin (and comes with a CD of some rare recordings, how cool.)
So, I’m all excited about these, but I have [...]

This short story demonstrates wisdom; except, I see one major flaw: our government does not feel it is necessary to bother with constitutional amendments.

Alright, I’ve done the math.
I spend 90 percent of my life reading about books. I spend 1 percent actually reading books. The rest of the 9 percent is varied between (and in no particular order): eating, sleeping, cleaning, bathing, errands/shopping, painting/instruments/random hobbies, exercising and having sex.
