korean wedding ducks

My husband’s boss went to Korea a few weeks ago to take care of something work related and he brought us back a wedding gift– Korean wedding ducks.
They are a tradition for newly married couples in Korea. They are a symbol of faithfulness– of a long and happy marriage. One duck represents the wife and one the husband. After the wedding, they are placed somewhere in the couple’s house. Their position, placed by either spouse at any given time, tells of the couple’s marital state. Face to face means the relationship is good; tail to tail means there is something wrong. A couple is never to go to bed with the ducks tail to tail.
This was my favourite wedding present, and perhaps the neatest gift I have ever received.

i’ve heard of the ducks. i’ve seen couples use dove statues as well.
